I have been natural now for a little over a year. My routine was very simple. Just kept my hair in sew ins and moisturized until it reached the length I was comfortable with. I never consulted with a hair dresser but my friend suggested to get consulted and a possible trim. The stylist put a product called vigarol in my hair. She said it would not harm it or anything it would just loosen my curls. I am not sure how you would define my hair its really tight small curls. Anyways, the vigarol...

Hello just curious to see where transitioners are at in their transition

Current Transition time: 1yr 3months

Natural hair length: 6-8 in apprx

Favorite transitioning products: Trader joes nourish spa
conditioner, WGO, Elucence, Suave vanilla, VO5, Kenra & Trader joe shampoo, silicon mix, miss keys 10en1, kenra mc

Favorite transitioning style: airdried bun + phony pony or braid...

Hello!

Yesterday I went and got some kinky twist done 4 the 1st time. The lady asked me if I wanted my ends curly or crinkly, I told her curly thinking that they would have a cute little wave to them. She put these tiny rollers on the end of the hair and dipped them in hot water and when she removed the rollers the hair on the ends looked like shirley temple curls. Hi, I am pretty new around here and I finally decided to make a post.

I am so fed up with my hair, it is ridiculous.
I don't know what type of hair it is, but no one I know has a hair type like mine. It is very fine/thin, and very soft so it is hard for me to do ANYTHING to it.I have to wash it every 5-7 days, or it just won't cooperate with me at all. i hvnt been here 4 a while but now im bk!
I decided i didnt want long healthy relaxed hair i want healthy natural hair so i been transistion for 10 almost 11 months!! and BOY has it been hard

Hello everyone.
I have been transitioning for awhile and each night I do two strand twists. Well, I just recently purchased a very good moisturizer only thing is my curl came out today. It was very odd how that happened. Tomorrow I plan to put the moisturizer on my hair while it is still braided, but if that doesn't work I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me tips. They always say that water is the best moisturizer for our natural hair...so how do conditioners and things help? why don't we just put on water then seal it with an oil or something? What exactly does it do besides like define your hair? I dunno its late and I was thinking randomly

Matted hair!

Ever since I've been making this transition I've noticed that my hair is becoming super super matted. I had like 5 knots...it seems to happen most at the endpoint of where I put product on to smooth my edges.I don't know if its the brush or the product or just my hair being stupid. Is there a particular ingredient that makes your hair matt? Cuz its like, where it's matted it feels a little sticky too....so any help would be appreciated

Going Natural...Why did you go natural?

I ask because of the "curl definition" thread. Did you go natural because you thought you had curls...ie "good" hair?

Would you have been happy with your nappy hair if there was little to no "curls"?

Are some naturals to obsessed with having or defining the curls in our hair?
